Ormiston

Ormiston is the solo project of Montreal's Nicola Ormiston, singer, songwriter and producer of a sunny and relaxed music. Between indie pop, chillwave and yacht rock, we find influences like Toro Y Moi, MGMT as well as an electro-disco touch. Born into a bilingual Montreal family, he was raised around female musicians and grew up with a strong sense of melody. He worked and collabotared with many local acts such as Milk and Bone, Heartstreets, Peter Peter and or Freida Mari to anme a few. He released in 2013 the song Typically Her (under the name Beverlay) which would be remixed by Kaytranada and counts today more than 3 million streams.

In 2020, he signed with Canadian label Lisbon Lux Records and released his debut album Hammer Down (2021). Cinematic and full of groove, his album explores love stories and failed relationships on optimistic indie-pop, The opus was well received by the public and the song Time Fades was also featured in Pete Davidson's latest film, Meet Cute.
